EVENT RECAP: Field Day in the Macleay

A field day, hosted by NEWA, was held in the Upper Macleay Valley in September.
 
NEWA Biosecurity staff were joined by presenters from Northern Tablelands Local Land Services (LLS) Animal Health and Pest Animal Teams, NSW Police Rural Crimes and the LLS Regional Committee.
 
The focus of the field day was on the adverse impact on livestock of weed infestations and the responsibilities of landholders for the management of noxious weeds on their property.
 
Whilst road closures and the weather threatened to derail the day, all involved that more events like this would help to spread the importance of both plant and animal biosecurity.
