Notice of Suspension
By Government Gazette on 17th May 2024, the Minister for Local Government has suspended the Council of the New England Weeds Authority; and that Mr John Rayner has been appointed as Administrator, to perform the role and function of the Council of the New England County Council for a period of 3 months from the date of gazettal. The suspension of Council means that the former Councillors have no standing with the New England Weeds Authority while suspended.
The Interim Administrator constitutes the Council and must perform all the functions, powers, and duties of the County Council/Authority. The Interim Administrator will effectively act as the Chairperson and the Councillors.
